AFM for Membrane Analysis

The poly (carbonate) samples mapped in this study were obtained from recent research on polymer membrane contamination^.[1-3] Flat membranes were cast from a polymer solution prepared in methylene chloride and impregnated with various concentrations of oil. Poly(carbonate) membranes with oil concentrations of zero (clean), 103, 104, and 105 ppm were imaged, primarily with oscillating mode.
