Pacific Nanotechnology's Fifth Year Anniversary
Santa Clara, California -- July 8, 2002 Pacific Nanotechnology, Inc.,
announces its fifth year of operations. Initially founded by pioneering
instrument designer, Dr. Ron Gamble, Pacific Scanning changed its name
to Pacific Nanotechnology in the fourth quarter of 2001. Associated with
a name change, there was a dramatic expansion in Pacific Nanotechnology's
operations.
According to Dr. Gary Aden, Pacific Nanotechnology's President, "We believe
that there is a substantial market need for Atomic Force Microscopes that
have high performance, are easy to use and are affordable. Our plan at
Pacific Nanotechnology is to offer atomic force microscope products that
help facilitate advances in Nanotechnology and Nanoscience for research,
development, and process control." Dr. Aden's experience in the field of
probe microscopy dates back to 1991 when he became the president of
TopoMetrix. Later he served as the president of ThermoMicroscopes.
Over its five year history, Pacific Nanotechnology developed and introduced
several advanced products including an SPM Controller and an AFM scanning
head. Most recently the Nano-R AFM was introduced and is being sold world
wide by a network of sales engineers and distributors. Dr. Paul West, V.P.
of Products, points out that "because our products were developed over the
past five years there is substantial cost savings in our designs that we
can pass on to our customers."
