Pacific Nanotechnology Unveils the Nano-R™ AFM
New AFM facilitates advances in nanotechnology; it is a high-powered tool
that any researcher can use to visualize and measure nanometer-sized surface
structures.
Santa Clara, CA -- October 28, 2002 -- Pacific Nanotechnology, Inc. (PNI)
announces Nano-R™ the first atomic force microscope (AFM) to combine
high-performance, ease-of-use, and affordability in a single instrument.
The Nano-R AFM is designed to enable the new, casual, or experienced user
to visualize and measure nanometer-sized surface structures in a research
or industrial laboratory.
"PNI has transformed a previously complex and expensive research instrument
into a practical tool that any researcher can use," said Paul West, Ph.D.,
VP Products and CTO for PNI. "Our goal is to put this tool into the hands
of every researcher in an effort to drive the development of nanotechnology
and nanoscience."
Advanced features in the Nano-R stage are designed to make it both easy to
use and extremely accurate. The Nano-R includes SPMCockpita software that
offers both AFM image acquisition and image analysis capabilities. The image
capture software has an EZModea option for novice users and X'Perta option
for advanced users. It includes 2-D and 3-D display modes as well as the
most common analysis techniques, such as line profiles.
"The Nano-R AFM is so easy to use that it takes only about an hour to start
getting images. It's very intuitive," said West.
The new Nano-R AFM has applications in numerous growing areas including
metallurgy, nanoparticles and powders, filters, semiconductor/data storage,
photonics, and adhesives.
The Nano-R is available for shipment now and is priced just under $70K in
the United States. Contact PNI sales at 1-800-246-3704. For an electronic
